Talking HIV is a video collaboration between Avert and The Sussex Beacon.
The short films and audio clips are a collection of real-life conversations between people who have been affected by the stigma of HIV.
Avert have been making Talking HIV films for some time. This was the first occasion where they produced Brighton-based recordings. With the help of The Sussex Beacon and our fantastic volunteers, they created new films.
Each Talking HIV episode covers something different.
- from testing for HIV
- living with HIV
- HIV stigma and discrimination
- self-stigma and a whole lot more.
Talking HIV is a great way to find out more about HIV and how it affects people’s day-to-day lives. This includes relationships, families, careers, and life outlook affected by HIV stigma.
Talking HIV is also a way to reflect on your own experiences. The films may help you to understand that you’re not alone.
To share your experiences, you can comment on Avert’s Facebook page.
Got a longer story you’d like to share? Maybe you’d like to record your own Talking HIV! You can get in touch with Avert here.
