Volunteer Driver

If you are looking for a flexible role that gets you out and about meeting people this could be the role for you. This is a vital role helping to keep the donations coming into us at The Sussex Beacon from the local community. The role requires you to be available for one or two mornings or afternoons a month. This role would ideally suit two people working together (a driver and mate)

As part of this role you will be:

  • Delivering and collecting collection boxes/buckets to and from local businesses, pubs and clubs in Brighton & Hove and surrounding areas, and bringing them back to us at The Sussex Beacon.
  • Promoting the work of The Sussex Beacon in the community, and where possible, forming a relationship with the businesses for future support (raffle prizes, events marketing etc)
  • Full training will be given; you must have your own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage. You must have a full, valid driving license and an up to date MOT for the vehicle. Also, your car must be correctly insured for carrying out collections for The Sussex Beacon.

The Sussex Beacon provides specialist care and support for people living with HIV. We promote independence and improve health and wellbeing by providing inpatient and outpatient services.

You must be over 18 and hold a clean driving licence. The role requires a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check which is repeated on a rolling 3 yearly basis.
The role is also subject to satisfactory references and a trial period.
