The Sussex Beacon’s Clinical Director, Jason Warriner, was presented with the Award of Merit by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) on Saturday.
The prestigious award was given in recognition of his outstanding contribution to nursing. Clinical Director at The Sussex Beacon since 2015, Jason heads up clinical services at the charity. He ensures the smooth running of the inpatient unit alongside supporting other services, as well as being a key part of the Senior Management Team for the organisation.
Jason is a well-known and highly respected figure both within and outside the RCN. He is the Current Chair of the RCN’s Public Health Forum and he has held many positions within the College. He is passionate about how the RCN can help benefit individuals, the profession and improve patient care. His work in the field of HIV and sexual health is exceptional.
Jason said, “I’m truly honoured to receive this award and I’m very grateful to those who nominated me. The RCN plays a pivotal role in promoting excellent nursing practice and working with them is something I feel passionate about. Sharing expertise and knowledge means we can offer the best possible care to our patients.”

Jason works incredibly hard with the team here and his input helped to ensure that the charity received an outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission when we were assessed last year.
