Lynette’s career is international development and for many years the portfolio of programmes she was responsible for included HIV. Until recently, she was Programme Director and Deputy Executive Director for the International HIV/AIDS Alliance here in Brighton. The role involved supporting civil society organisations across 40 countries in HIV programming and advocacy.
She was delighted when asked to join the Sussex Beacon Board to work on HIV in her own community. Brighton is her adopted home as she is from Australia and lived and worked in Geneva for five years before coming to the UK to take up a role with the AIDS Alliance in 2006. Her work life has been in senior leadership roles including with the Red Cross in Australia and Geneva. She currently works as a freelancer in international development focusing on strategy, facilitation and mentoring.
