15th Anniversary - Positively Changing
Brighton Unitarian New Road, Brighton
1st December 2007
To commemorate and celebrate The Sussex Beacon's 15th Anniversary at the heart of Brighton, The Sussex Beacon held the event to coincide with World AIDS Day.
During the day, there was an interactive public exhibition which took visitors on a journey of discovery in four distinct areas. The first was a retrospective on why the Beacon started 15 years ago, the second a changing nature and epidmiology of HIV/AIDS looking at prevention, treatment and living with HIV, the third area looks at the changing demographics of HIV/AIDS in the community and looking at how the condition mpacts different segments of the community and the final area will focus on how The Sussex Beacon fits in and why it is still necessary. The journey concluded at a commemorative wall where people can leave thoughts, reactions and impressions.
The display is available for use through-out 2008 - please contact us with requests.
There was also video footage of a group of teenagers from a local community college giving their views about HIV and AIDS.
