It costs £192 to run The Sussex Beacon for an hour; this money helps us to support people living with HIV by challenging stigma, promoting independent living, and improving health. The Sussex Beacon raises this money through a variety of different ways, but is also aided by generous donations from individuals, groups, and companies, who pledge to pay for a day of care.
If you’d like to fund The Sussex Beacon Centre for an hour, or maybe even longer, please get in contact. All pledgers will get a shout-out from our social media accounts, unless requested otherwise, and a certificate and thank you letter from our Chief Executive. The headings below show services that Pay for an Hour can help to facilitate.
Our inpatient unit is open 365 days a year, providing people living with HIV a space where they can be supported, receive specialist care, and be coached on how to live independently with HIV. We also provide end-of-life care to those individuals whose HIV has progressed significantly, attempting to improve their quality of life and relieve some of the symptoms of other infections that have happened because of their HIV.
We run a day service at The Sussex Beacon Centre every Tuesday and Thursday; this service aims to provide people living with HIV with a space in which they can discuss issues they are facing with their peers and trained professionals. Day service is also run in tandem with one-to-one counselling and physical therapy sessions.
