Painting Auction for The Sussex Beacon

‘Ben Fearnside: Metal on Canvas’ runs from the 1st -14th of May for the Brighton Festival Fringe. But it’s about more than art.

Ben Fearnside will be auctioning one painting and all funds raised will go to The Sussex Beacon. Place a bid and you could be the proud owner of an original framed abstract in metals.

Ben Said – “Having an exhibition in a festival isn’t just about selling paintings. It’s about coming out of the studio, starting conversations, connecting with the community.  What better way to do that than by promoting a local charity I care about?”

Sussex Masonic Charities donate £2,000 to The Sussex Beacon

There has been an outpouring of local support since The Sussex Beacon announced in December it is facing the prospect of potentially closing services, following a reduction in the funding it receives from the NHS.

On the 26th February 2017 at the Brighton Half Marathon, a cheque for £2,000 was presented to Chief Executive Simon Dowe by Michael Harris, Chair of the Sussex Masonic Charities. The £2,000 was from The Provincial Grand Lodge of Sussex and is in addition to nearly £2,000 that has already been donated by the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

We are extremely grateful for the support that we continue to receive from the local community in such uncertain times. If you would like to know how you can help to #SaveTheSussexBeacon please click here to find out more.
